This 1.5-hour presentation will cover the various key factors that can affect the quality and performance of concrete in your project. Having a better understanding of the causes behind the common defects can go a long way in optimizing the overall quality and longevity of your concrete structure.

The presentation will provide:

  • common defect causes
  • available solutions to avoid or minimize losses

About Oliver Xiao, P.Eng. Principal Consultant, Z1 Consulting Inc.

Oliver is a licensed civil engineer. He has extensive experience in R&D, construction materials and technologies, standards and specifications, industry association and infrastructure projects across Eastern Canada. While working for the industry association, Oliver managed the Ontario ready-mix production facilities quality assurance program and supported municipalities with construction best practices across the region. He is also a board member of the American Concrete Institute Ontario Chapter, and voting member on several technical committees at ACI and TAC.
