Peterborough Canoe Museum: Civil Engineering Site Design Tour Aug. 13, 2025 | All Day Event

The Peterborough Chapter invites you to a Civil Engineering Site Design Tour of the Canadian Canoe Museum. Located on the shore of Little Lake, the Canadian Canoe Museum boasts the largest collection of paddled watercrafts in the world. Nicole Cameron, C.E.T., and Luke Parsons, P.Eng., will lead the tour.

Tour Highlights include:

  • Parking lot use of permeable pavers for low-impact development
  • Accessible site grading and use of tactile warning indicators
  • Underground pipes that service the building and are connecting to water and sewer mains with the ROW
  • Stormwater management planning on the site, including a constructed wetland and infiltration swales

Nicole Cameron, C.E.T.

With 18 years of diverse engineering experience across the public and private sectors, Nicole completed the civil design drawings for the Canadian Canoe Museum in 2023. She is a project manager at Engage Engineering and has worked on many local projects, including Quaker Foods Urban Park, Brock Shelter, Ennismore Community Improvement Plan, and Museum Drive reconstruction.

Luke Parsons, P.Eng.

Luke has 10 years of experience in the civil engineering consulting sector. Luke was the project manager and engineer of the civil engineering design components for the Canadian Canoe Museum during the design and construction phases of the project. Luke is now the Water Resources Manager at Engage Engineering and has worked on many location projects, including the Peterborough Fire Hall #2, Norwood Medical Centre and local affordable housing projects.
