About Speaker: Francesca Durham
Francesca Durham is a multidisciplinary leader whose work spans recruitment strategy, arts curation, mentorship, and wellness. With over 15 years of experience across education, human services, and the creative sector, she brings a unique lens to leadership rooted in inclusion, storytelling, and access. As a Certified Clinical Musician Francesca has used music as a healing and mentoring tool—supporting hospice and palliative care patients and guiding new practitioners. Her dedication to community wellness deeply informs her professional and creative practice. In the recruitment space, she has led inclusive hiring and retention strategies, including the Northern Practicum Program for BEd students in First Nations communities and the Education Assistant Program for community-based professional development. She also led the implementation of digital hiring systems and mentorship initiatives within her team. As a curator, Francesca has designed and led numerous public exhibitions through the Halton Black History Awareness Society (HBHAS) and the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH), showcasing Black and diasporic voices in community galleries and municipal spaces. In 2022, she established a strategic educational partnership with Western University, launching an internship pilot program focused on equity and decolonized curatorial practice. Francesca’s leadership is purpose-driven, collaborative, and deeply relational. Whether recruiting, curating, or mentoring, she is committed to creating meaningful, inclusive pathways for the next generation of changemakers.
We hope to see you there!
