Technology Accreditation Canada Receives 100th Accreditation Application

Earlier this week, Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) received its 100th national program accreditation application.

This milestone represents the significant progress TAC has made in its short period of operation.

TAC accreditation involves a qualified, trained audit team auditing an educational institution’s program against the engineering and applied science technology profession’s national standards. Achieving accreditation provides students, parents, the institution’s administration and industry confidence that the program has met the standards.

“As TAC approaches the end of its second full year of operation, we are gratified by the number of new accreditation applications from educational institutions in Canada”, notes Peter Portlock, TAC Board Chair. “Surpassing the 100 mark is a testament to the validity and credibility of TAC’s accreditation process, and we look forward to building on this momentum in 2018.”

“We thank our customers, the educational institutions, for their tremendous support”, comments Richard Stamper, TAC Executive Director. “We remain committed to collaborating with existing and new institutions to best serve their students”.

By year end, TAC will have 26 programs nationally accredited, of which 22 are technology and 4 technician. Plans for 2018 include auditing 30 more programs and streamlining the accreditation process by automating all forms.
