OACETT 2017 Provincial Honours and Awards Winners Announced
Nineteen extraordinary individuals were recognized for advancing the engineering technology profession at the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) Provincial Honours and Awards Gala on Friday, October 20 in Toronto.
These recipients join an impressive list of leaders, businesses, educators and innovators who have been honoured for their admirable industry contributions.
“This year’s recipients possess unique experiences and talents, but they share a common passion for giving back to the engineering technology community through mentorship, education, collaboration and ingenuity,” said OACETT President Greg Miller, C.E.T., CBCO. “By distinguishing themselves through outstanding achievement in their field or dedicated volunteer service to their association, these honorees have brought credit to the entire engineering technology profession.”

Gail Smyth, who recently retired from her role as Executive Director of Skills Ontario, was also recognized during the gala for her outstanding contributions and remarkable dedication to promoting careers in the skilled trades and technologies to young people in Ontario.
