OACETT’s $10,000 gift supports NC’s engineering technology students

Students in Niagara College’s engineering technician and technology programs received a significant boost today, thanks to a $10,000 gift from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). The gift will be used to establish the OACETT Technology Scholarship which will provide an annual award to a student in one of Niagara College's OACETT-recognized engineering or applied science technology programs. The endowment fund at Niagara College is the 23rd fund created as part of OACETT's 25 for 25 Building Forward Campaign, which supports engineering technology education by expanding the bursary program into all of Ontario's colleges.

"We are thrilled to support Niagara College on this important initiative," said David Tsang, A.Sc.T., Fletcher Foundation Board of Trustees chair. "It is truly an investment in students at Niagara College and in the future of the profession."

Students enrolled in their first, second, or third year can apply for the OACETT Technology Scholarship, which is intended to encourage and support students in their post-secondary journeys.
