City of Toronto's TransformTO Net Zero Strategy

Presenter Biography: Tamara Grossutti – Project Lead, City of Toronto Tamara has a background in urban sustainability, community engagement and policy development and has worked at the City of Toronto's Environment and Energy Division since 2014. During her time at the City, Tamara helped develop the City's TransformTO Climate Action Strategy, worked on the implementation of sustainable and low-carbon transportation policies, and spent the last four years engaging Toronto's residents and community groups in climate action. Tamara holds a Bachelor's of Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph and a Master's of Science in Geography from Memorial University. Outside of work, Tamara volunteers with a number of local community groups in Toronto's west end, she is an avid cyclist, runner, gardener, nature lover and a certified yoga instructor. Tamara will provide an overview of the City of Toronto's TransformTO Net Zero Strategy to encourage residents to incorporate climate action into their personal and professional lives. In 2021, Toronto City Council has adopted an ambitious strategy to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Toronto to net zero by 2040 – 10 years earlier than initially proposed. The City’s 2040 target is one of the most ambitious in North America. Participants will receive email confirmation of attendance. The presentation will count as an OACETT Continuing Professional Development credit of one hour in the category of Contributions to Technical Knowledge.
