Join us for this virtual informative and technical session on how to dig in the presence of buried utilities, even if it is just planting a tree in your front yard! Whether you are digging as a professional excavator, excavating for/on behalf of a business or organization, or you are digging on your property of residence which you rent or own, our session presenter, Chris Van Daele, C.E.T, will outline why and how to request locates in Ontario to protect your project from unnecessary damages, injuries and financial penalties. This session will cover:  Underground hazards  Universal colour codes  CSA standards for and how to dig in the presence of buried utilities  What you need to know before requesting a locate  Types of locates requests  How to request a locate  Call before you clear The workshop, “Call before you dig!" will count towards the OACETT CPD program as a partial (1 hour) fulfillment of the full-day (6-8 hours) informal course/self-directed study under the Technical Knowledge category.
