OACETT partners with Mohawk for new online course
In today’s world, professional development has become a necessity to ensure that our members stay competitive in a challenging economic climate. Professional development was indentified as a key strategy during our last AGM and your association has partnered with Mohawk College to develop an online course as part of their "Industrial Distribution Leadership" program.
We have provided limited seed funding for the development, design and implementation of the online delivery of the course entitled "Marketing, Sales and CRM for Industrial Distribution."
The program helps develop leadership skills that we all need to succeed, regardless of our position. Here’s what one of our leaders, Past President George Fletcher commented after reviewing the materials: "I believe this program could be extremely valuable in the professional development of technologists moving up in industrial corporate management. The program outline mirrors the skills that I had to acquire, without coherent available courses, during 40 plus years of working in the industry. "
The program offers six courses in total. Topics covered include: business principles, operations, sales/marketing and CRM, negotiations, leadership and effective communication. Each course was developed by industry leaders to provide the specific information you need to succeed in your professional career. Students can take courses individually or complete all six to receive the certificate.
I encourage you to consider taking this program as a way to broaden your skills, become a valued employee at your organization and explore new career opportunities. To track the programs success we are encouraging you to record courses taken in your personal Record of Continuous Learning (RCL).
