OACETT members live and work within six regions in the province: Western, Horseshoe, Toronto, Central, Eastern and Northern. Two regional councillors lead each region. They represent their constituents on association boards in the certification and services areas. Each region also has a regional secretary-treasurer.
OACETT has 28 active chapters where members across the province can meet and network with other technology professionals and participate in local events that can be helpful to their careers or just for fun. Within each of the six regions, there are several chapters.
OACETT members manage the local chapters. Each chapter holds events each year, ranging from golf tournaments, speakers, plant tours, awards nights, to social events with members of other engineering associations, bonspiels, dinners, dances, family picnics and fishing derbies.
Chapters often notify members about events through e-mail, in The Ontario Technologist magazine or on the website. Members find opportunities for professional development through their volunteer roles at the local chapter.
It’s one of the best networking resources around! We strongly encourage members to support and participate in their local chapter.
