The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists

Carole and George Fletcher Foundation

For over 25 years, The Carole and George Fletcher Foundation has awarded bursaries to exceptional students.

Established in honour of OACETT Past-President George Fletcher, C.E.T., the Foundation is a registered charitable organization which fosters excellence in education through student support. The Foundation is managed and operated by a Board of Trustees.

In 2012, the Foundation launched its 25 for 25 Building Forward Campaign, a historical fund raising drive. With the goal of establishing a $40,000 endowed fund at each of 25 Ontario colleges, the Campaign was created to expand the existing bursary program. Each endowed fund will sustain the OACETT Engineering Technology Award, a $1,000 award presented annually to a student enrolled in an OACETT recognized engineering technology or applied science program who best exemplifies integrity and professionalism. With funds established at all 25 colleges, students interested in applying for the OACETT Engineering Technology Award should visit their college web-site or contact their faculty.

In addition to the OACETT Engineering Technology Awards, the Foundation bestows the Barbara and Felix Degan Award, presented annually to an international student enrolled in a post-secondary engineering technology or applied science program and, commencing in 2011, the Fletcher Generation Award, presented annually to a child/grandchild of an OACETT member enrolled in a post-secondary engineering technology or applied science program.
