National Accreditation

The Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB), together with OACETT, evaluates applied science and engineering technology programs at educational agencies for the purpose of identifying whether they meet the profession's approved benchmarks and criteria.

Although it is a voluntary process, more and more colleges in Ontario are seeking national accreditation as a means of having their engineering technology programs readily recognized across the country. With such a large number of engineering technology programs in Ontario this may take some time. In the meantime, graduates of programs that are not nationally accredited, and who wish to be certified, are assessed by OACETT on an individual basis.
