Message from the Chapter Chair

Welcome to the Georgian Bay Chapter of OACETT! Our chapter represents OACETT members in the Georgian Bay area north of Toronto including Collingwood, Parry Sound and as Far as Bracebridge areas. 

The Chapter Executive is made up of members who volunteer their time to help arrange meetings and events to serve the local Chapter.  The Chapter meetings are held in Barrie every month starting June 15th 2023 where we will meet either in person or virtually, with a break in December and again during the summer months.  We are hoping to be able to provide our chapter members with opportunities for professional development and growth through their volunteer roles at the local chapter or assisting in organizing and event.  

We are looking at organizing events like the Annual Golf Tournament at Tangle Creek; a Curling Bonspeil in Stroud again this year;  The Colts Hockey Night which is a great way to get together with your family and your membership and have some fun! We attend competitions at Georgian College such as the Robotics competition and lets not forget volunteering at the local Science Fairs as Judges.  Our Women in Technology (WIT) Representative is looking at some fun events this year like the walk for the Fletcher Foundation at the Barrie water front; possibly a tour of a local brewery with dinner or a tour of the City of Barrie water treatment plant. 

Come and meet your chapter executive and other chapter members and have a chance at networking with other technology professionals! Participate in local events that can be helpful in growing your career, or just for fun!

We are always looking for new active members to join and participate in the Georgian Bay Chapter.  Feel free to reach out with any questions, thoughts and ideas.
